Macaulay sells metal both domestically and internationally to a range of customers.

Macaulay has permanent metal recycling yards in Lower Hutt (also our head office), Palmerston North, Tauranga, Rotorua and Whakatane.

However we have operated all over New Zealand and even internationally on projects and recycling jobs so please reach out via our Contact Page if you are keen to work with us!

Please note our yards are closed on Sundays and public holidays. Our gates will shut 15 minutes prior to closing to allow our staff time to process your metals.

Our prices change on a regular basis in line with international metal markets and foreign exchange movements.

Many of the decommissioning projects we have worked on involve breaking down big pieces of plant and equipment - we will work with you to ensure you get the best price for your recyclables!

Please note there are certain items that we cannot accept at our yards to make sure we keep our team and the environment in tip top condition - for full details please have a look at our Prohibited & Restricted Materials section.

The most secure way is to provide us with evidence of your bank account and email address so we can deposit the money and email you the paperwork.

We also operate ATMs and cash tills in all our branches.

Some of our bins are standard sizes to fit certain types of trucks like our gantry and hook trucks and bins.

We have a wide variety and our friendly team is always happy to discuss what options would be the best solution for you.
